EN19 is a high quality, high tensile steel usually supplied readily machine able in ‘T’ condition, giving good ductility and shock resisting properties combined with resistance to wear.
Applications
EN19T was originally introduced for the use in the machine tool and motor industries for gears, pinions, shafts, spindles and the like. Later its applications became much more extended and it is now widely used in areas such as the oil and gas industries. EN19T is suitable for applications such as gears, bolts, studs and a wide variety of applications where a good quality high tensile steel grade is suited
ForgingPre heat carefully, then raise temperature to 850-1200°C for forging. Do not forge below 850°C. After forging cool slowly in still air.
Annealing:
- Heat the EN19T slowly to 680-700°C. Cool in air.
Hardening:
- This steel grade is commonly supplied ready heat treated.
- If further heat treatment is required annealed EN19 should be heated slowly to 860-890°C and after adequate soaking at this temperature quench in oil.
- Temper as soon as tools reach room temperature.
Tempering:
- Heat carefully to a suitable temperature selected by reference to a tempering chart or table.
- Soak at the temperature for 2 hours per 25mm of ruling section, then allow to cool in air.
- Tempering between 250-375°C is not advised as tempering within this range will reduce the impact value.
Heat Treatment:
- Heat treatment temperatures, including rate of heating, cooling and soaking times will vary due to factors such as the shape and size of each steel component.
- Other considerations during the heat treatment process include the type of furnace, quenching medium and work piece transfer facilities.
- Please consult your heat treatment provider for full guidance on heat treatment of EN19T alloy steel.

EN 353 ALLOY STEEL ROD
Material Grade | 353 |
Usage/Application | connecting rods, in high tensile bolts, studs, in propeller shaft joints |
Shape | Round |
Brand | Girnar Steels Industries |
Country of Origin | Made in India |
Because it has lowered the cost and increased the quality of the metal it has replaced the wrought iron. This EN 353 is also widely used in the elevated temperature applications. It has good internal strength, high external strength, which provides it high wear-resistant. This grade of alloy is used in many engineering applications. It is commonly used to form the axles, driveshaft, crankshaft which is used as connecting rods, in high tensile bolts, studs, in propeller shaft joints, in making the rifle barrels, and also used in the induction hardened pins.
This EN 353 has to perform many tests before used in any of the applications. The tests are as follows flaring test, flattening test, spectro test, third party inspection, etc. we always deliver the product along with the documentation of the entire test as well as with the details of the number of stocks which you have ordered.
4140 ALLOY STEEL ROUND ROD
Material Grade | 4140 |
Brand | Girnar Steels Industries |
Usage/Application | Construction |
Shape | Round |
Material | Alloy |
Country of Origin | Made in India |
The 4140 alloy steel round rod has been cold finished and annealed, has an unpolished (mill) surface, meets American Society for Testing and Materials International ASTM A108 specifications, and has a standard tolerance. The 4140 alloy steel grade contains chromium and molybdenum for high strength and has good machinability. This material can be heat treated for higher hardness. The rod has been cold finished, a process of removing the outer layer to achieve the specified dimensions. The material has been annealed, a method of heating and cooling metal to modify its properties, such as increasing its formability and toughness or decreasing its strength, after it has been shaped. Steel is an iron alloy with carbon and other elements that modify the steel to achieve specific properties. In general, steels with higher carbon content have greater strength, hardness, and wear resistance, while those with lower carbon content have more formability, weldability, and toughness. Carbon steels, which include most AISI-SAE grades in the 1000 range, are classified by their level of carbon content as low (below 0.3%), medium (0.3% to 0.6%) and high (0.6% and above). Alloy steels, which include AISI-SAE grades in the 1300 and 4000 ranges and above, incorporate elements such as chromium, molybdenum, and nickel to modify properties like machinability and corrosion resistance. Tool steels, which include most grades with a letter and number grade designation, have high carbide content for wear resistance, high hardness, and the ability to hold a cutting edge. Some tool steels are designed to resist deformation when used in elevated temperatures. Tensile strength, used to indicate a material’s overall strength, is the peak stress it can withstand before it breaks. Wear resistance indicates the ability to prevent surface damage caused by contact with other surfaces. Toughness describes the material's ability to absorb energy before breaking, while hardness (commonly measured as indentation hardness) describes its resistance to permanent surface deformation. Formability indicates how easily the material can be permanently shaped. Machinability describes how easily it can be cut, shaped, finished, or otherwise machined, while weldability characterizes the ability to be welded.

H13 Tool Steel is a versatile chromium-molybdenum hot work steel that is widely used in hot work and cold work tooling applications. The hot hardness (hot strength) of H13 resists thermal fatigue cracking which occurs as a result of cyclic heating and cooling cycles in hot work tooling applications. Because of its excellent combination of high toughness and resistance to thermal fatigue cracking (also known as heat checking) H13 is used for more hot work tooling applications than any other tool steel.
Because of its high toughness and very good stability in heat treatment, H13 is also used in a variety of cold work tooling applications. In these applications, H13 provides better hardenability (through hardening in large section thicknesses) and better wear resistance than common alloy steels such as 4140.
Also available as Electro-Slag-Remelted (ESR) and Vacuum-Arc-Remelted (VAR) products as well. The remelting processes provide improved chemical homogeneity, refinement of carbide size, and the associated improvements in mechanical properties and fatigue properties.
APPLICATIONS: Inserts, cores, and cavities for die casting dies, die casting shot sleeves, hot forging dies, extrusion dies, and plastic mold cavities and components that require high toughness and excellent polishability.

EN24 steel is a medium carbon, low alloy steel known for its toughness and strength in generally large sections. EN24 is likewise one kind of nickel chromium molybdenum steels. It can be supplied hardened and tempered in the tensile range of 930-1080 Mpa as well as annealed condition. Pre hardened and tempered EN24 steels can be further surface hardened by flame or induction hardening and by nitriding. EN24 steel is high tensile alloy steel famous for its excellent wear resistance properties and in addition to where high strength properties are required. This Grade is used in components affiliated to shafts, gears, studs and bolts. Its hardness is within the range of 248~302 HB.STEEL PROPERTIES
